Not too long ago, I published the article “50 Digital Marketing influencers to follow in 2016,” where I compiled a list of the most influential people and thought leaders in the the digital marketing industry. When I think back in retrospect, there are a lot of digital marketers in Nigeria that also deserve a mention as well.
Which is why today, I’ve decided to compile a list of ten influetial Nigerians in the digital marketing industry?that you should follow in 2016.
After scouring over 200 Nigerian blogs i have cherry picked a special group of individuals. These people are leaders and entrepreneurs in their respective organizations. Some of them have international acclaim and have had their works published and featured on the likes of CNN, Forbes and Aljazeera.
Without further ado, here are our Nigerian influencers:
Linda Ikeji is Nigeria’s top blogger. She started her blog, Lindaikeji blog in 2006 and seems to have achieved some legendary status. Linda publishes trends?and stories, breaking and non-breaking news including celebrity gossips and political news that you wouldn’t come across on anywhere else.
Her blog is one of the most popular in Nigeria and she also won an award for “best entertainment blog” in 2013.Her blogging feat is unprecedented and her blog has been a regular “online home” for most Nigerians.
Obi Asika is an entrepreneur and the founder of two digital marketing companies, Dragon Africa and Outsource Media. He also served as the Senior Special Assistant to former President Goodluck Jonathan on social media. He has also played an important role in the growth of the msic industry in Nigeria.
Obi Asika is also a prominent figure in laying the infrastructure for the growth and development of the media & entertainment industry.
Uche Eze Pedro
Uche Eze is a blogger and social media expert. She is the C.E.O of Bainstone Limited and also the founder of BellaNaija. She publishes more in-depth coverage of the Nigerian fashion, lifestyle and entertainment. she has influenced a lot of new bloggers.
Uche was also listed in Forbes “30 Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs in Africa.”
Japheth Joshua Omojuwa
Another Nigerian that has gone global is Japheth Joshua Omojuwa, founder of Omojuwa blog. He is renowned social media expert, blogger and a political commentator. He started his blog in 2009 and it has become a home for those who are interested in political news.
Many of his works have appeared in Nigerian newspapers including Leadership and The Punch as well as CNN. His work has also been translated in several languages including German, French, Portuguese and Greek. As well as covering the Nigerian political issues on his blog, Omojuwa also covers news about Africa as well.
Loy Okezie is the editor in chief of Techloy as well as the founder of? Loy media, a digital marketing company. He has overseen the publishing some of Africa’s leading online media properties such as TechLoy, The Telecomist, Foodiciary and GearLoy with quality content and passionate audiences.
Loy is a blogger who has made a difference in Nigerian IT industry. His site, Techloy has become one of the best known blogs devoted to technology and consumer electronics.
Onibalusi Bamidele needs no introduction. He has been featured in Digital Journal, Forbes, Millionaire Magazine and others. He is the founder of YoungPrepro.com which was re-branded in 2013 as WritersinCharge. He inspires readers about how to start their own writing blog, increasing traffic and monetizing it.
He has been blogging since 2010. His blog is a great resource and a must read for anyone interested in a writing career. His resourceful blog posts and tips have generated lots of ROI for many people.
Kemi Filani is a professional blogger who is also the founder of? Kemifilani. Being one of the most popular blogs in Nigeria, she provides her readers with plenty of celebrity fashion styles and latest news on fashion trends.

Jide Ogunsanya, is the founder of Ogbonge blog. He is a blogger and digital marketer with a very specific emphasis on technology. He provides an educative mixture of free tutorials, tech reviews and money making ideas on his blog. He has created a unique platform to convey different innovative ideas and tech DIY resources.
His blog has won several awards including “best science and tech blog 2011.” With thousands of unique subscribers and visitors, ogbonge blog is one of the best blogs in Nigeria.
Emeh Achanga is a professional blogger and is also the C.E.O of Miss Petite Nigeria, a news and entertainment blog. She launched her blog in 2012, and also won an award for best Nigerian blog in 2012 as well.
Tolu Ogunlesi is another world renowned blogger and social media expert. He is one of the most active Nigerians on Twitter and was heavily involved in the 2015 Nigerian elections on social media. He is a freelance writer contributing articles to various publications including the Financial Times, Forbes Africa, CNN.com, NEXT, Al Jazeera, Ventures Africa, Economist.com and the Huffington Post. He also syndicated opinion articles in many Nigerian newspapers.
